Letters to Rev Shawn
Page 1, 2

Rev Shawn,
We recently supplied Christmas gifts for one of your students.   We got a
nice thank you letter from her later. We've often done angel trees and stuff
and never really thought a whole lot about it other than we knew the person was
appreciative. The main reason I'm writing this doesn't concern that, but because
of the Christmas package and thank you letter I decided to go to your website.
I would like to say I think I've read every testimony and watched all the videos
and personally was touched by the spirit and have made a renewed commitment in my
life after reading what you stand for and knowing I should stand for the same
things in my life. You don't need to respond to this e-mail but in some way
you've reached out into the "real" world to me, and I just wanted to let you know.
All my kids are above 18 but one of my sons is dating one of your graduates and
is making a difference in his life also. Thanks for being who you are in Christ
Jesus.

Rev Shawn,
It is because of everything that you and Harvest Time taught me that I was able to take on everything life has thrown at me.  I hope the girls that are there with you now know how lucky they are to have a second chance to get things right before they enter real life.  Life is much harder and unpredictable than people think.  You never know what life is going to throw at you.  You taught me that, how to do deal with it, that God is not going to give you more than you can handle, and to pray and look to Him for the answers.  God and your voice in my ear telling me these things is what has gotten me through all these hard times.  When I would get discouraged, fear and anxiety wouldn't take over.  I just wanted to let you and all the girls you have there now know just how grateful I am for everything I learned from you.  It's because of your hard work, your dedication, and God's help that have made me the person I am today.  I don't think you'll ever know how grateful I am for the chance and great privilege of knowing you.  You are a very special person, and I love you very much.  I would love for you to read this letter to your girls.  Maybe it will help someone see that being there is a second chance, and they shouldn't take it for granted.  They should take in all the knowledge you instill in them, and know that they have the chance to learn from one of the best people I know.  Every girl is there for a reason.  They are meant for greatness, all they have to do is know it, accept it, and start working towards their future.  Thank you for never giving up on me and seeing the person you knew I could be.  I love and miss you all.  - A former student

There were only two employees when I first founded HTM.  It was Christy Ebershbacher and myself.  If you were a student during the first year of the ministry, you could never forget Christy.  She was such a blessing during the early days.  Her humor and passion for God impacted everyone around her.  Here are some excerpts from a letter sent by Christy.

Rev Shawn,

…My son is 5 and is in preschool.  He is a joy of joys to me!  I love watching him grow up.  I really love watching how he sees God, and how his faith (like those of any children learning about God) is so pure.  He is very talkative, and if you make the 'mistake' of talking to him once--you will have a shadow the rest of the day!  I have seen how early God puts things into children, and feel so blessed that as a parent you get to help God bring out what their callings are.

My little girl is 2 and a half.  She is a drama queen.  She likes to wear dresses and hats and is trying to convince me that my purpose in life is to fulfill her every need, every moment of the day!  I was nervous about having a girl, but am so glad I have one.  Each moment with her is magical to me.

I was on staff at my church for 7 years and then my Pastors were called into full time itinerant ministry.  When they left, we ended up leaving the church they merged with about a year later.  It was hard to leave all our friends, but we really felt God calling us out.  We have now joined another church.  I am excited about being on staff with them already and am really excited about reaching the community we are in.

My husband and I have only been married 7 years, but it seems like we have known each other our whole lives.  It is hard to ever remember not having him in my life.  He is my best friend and I am thankful every day for him.

The website looks great, AND SO DO YOU!!  It was nice to see the website, and to see all God is doing for HTM.

I hope to hear from you soon,
Christy

"Last weekend I visited Harvest Time for the first time.  When we drove onto the property, we could feel the presence of God.  The whole weekend was difficult emotionally (wondering how my niece was doing), but it also felt like a revival!  The parents' classes were full of encouragement, love, and scripture.  We were so impressed by every single worker on every level.  You truly are servants of God.  May God continue to bless you and your family as you serve so willingly from a loving heart.  It was a privilege and blessing to meet you all." -Aunt of a student
